Race Recap: Havelock Run
June 1 was the perfect day for the 41st annual Havelock Charity Run. Perfect in many ways, but here are 41 of the most perfect ways:The Weather!!
- 60 degrees at the start without any wind or rain!
The Course!!
- Havelock Avenue: The road construction from 70th to 84th Street was far enough along that runners had a brand-new surface to run on.
- A brand-new roundabout was put in on Fremont Street!
- 68th Street was re-surfaced! WHAT?!?
Race Statistics
- Did you know that 365 people finished the 3k?
- Or that 296 people finished the 10k?
- So that’s 661 people who took home the coolest sunglasses ever!
- It also took about 75 volunteers to pull this thing off. Wanna volunteer next year?
- And what about those T-shirts? The Pinnacle Bank marketing team did an awesome job with the design again this year!

- 10 teams beat the Pinnacle Bank team in the 10k!

- Corporate 3k team WINNERS – Team EA Runners
- Mixed 3k team WINNERS – LRCN Mixed 3k
- Women 3k teYouth 3k team WINNERS – Pants on Fire (I’m not lying!)
- 15 teams finished the 3k race.
- 5 teams beat the Pinnacle Bank team in 3k!
Overall Winners
- Connie Belt was our wheelchair winner – Way to go Connie!
- Johnny Rutford won the Nebraska RRCA 10k Championship for the open men!
- Mary Noel won the Nebraska RRCA 10k Championship for the open women!
- The Men’s Masters Nebraska RRCA 10k champion was Ryan Regnier.
- The Women’s Masters Nebraska RRCA 10k champion was Ann Ringlein.
- The Overall Men’s 10k winner was Johnny Rutford.
- The Overall Women’s 10k winner was Mary Noel.
- The Overall Men’s 3k winner was Tim Grundmayer.
- The Overall Women’s 3k winner was Erica Doering.
Other Notable Performances
- Larry DeVries, finished his 40th Havelock Charity Run 10k.
- Our oldest competitor was Betty Petersen, but we won’t list her age here!
- The youngest competitors were both 3-years old! Hailey Doernerman and Mia Reinbold - Way to go, girls!
Charities
- Every team that beat the Pinnacle Bank team was awarded $100 to their chosen charity!!
- Every team that did not beat the Pinnacle Bank team was still awarded $75 to their chosen charity!! Thanks Pinnacle Bank, you’re the best!
- Charities from 10k teams that beat the Pinnacle Bank team were awarded $1000!
- Charities from 3k teams that beat the Pinnacle Bank team were awarded $500!
- Because of all the awesome teams, a total of $4,425 was donated to local charities!
- The most popular charity to donate to was The People’s City Mission.
- Did I mention that we raised $4,425 for charity?
