Lincoln Track Club
Scholarship Program
Our Mission: The purpose of LTC is to facilitate quality events for Lincoln and the surrounding area to promote opportunities for physical fitness at all levels.
Scholarship Explanation: A one-year need-based scholarship for $2,500. The award was created to financially reward High School Seniors who are currently participating in their school’s track or cross-country program and who have committed and accepted an offer to compete on a team in either track or cross country at the college level the following year. Applicants must reside in Lancaster County. These funds may be used for any course of study at an accredited baccalaureate or associate degree program.
Application Process: Download the Application. Once the applicant completes the information, the scholarship committee requests the application be returned, along with three letters of recommendation (one being the school track or cross-country coach) to the committee. The committee requires proof of intent to be submitted during the interview process. Again, to qualify for the scholarship, you must be enrolled and a member of a college level team in either track or cross country.
Selection Process: The Scholarship committee will review all applications. Applicants will be selected based on their qualifications, not to exceed six in number. Once chosen, the finalists will be interviewed by committee members.
Decision: The committee will select the recipients after the personal interviews are conducted. All finalists will be notified within the month following interviews. Recognition: Recipients will be publicly recognized at the summer LTC board meeting.
Follow-Up: LTC Scholarship Committee members will keep in contact with the recipients throughout the year to receive progress reports to share with LTC members.
