LTC Boasts Two Races with RRCA Championship Status
Lincoln Track Club has been awarded Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Championship race status for two of its events in 2024.
The Mile will serve as a Regional RRCA Championship for the one-mile distance, and the Lincoln Half Marathon will serve as the State RRCA Championship for the 13.1-mile distance.
The RRCA Championship Event Series is the largest grassroots-organized running series in the U.S. with over 200 races participating that attract nearly 300,000 participants.
RRCA Championship events are designated annually at the state, regional and national level. According to the RRCA website, the goal of the RRCA Championship Event Series “is to celebrate and shine a spotlight on well-run, community-focused events and to award their top performing runners.”
RRCA awards will be provided at both The Mile and the Lincoln Half Marathon for open male and female, 40+ male and female, 50+ male and female, and 60+ male and female.
“LTC continues to work hard to elevate the quality of its races for our competitors. The awarding of RRCA Championship race status for two of our events validates that effort,” LTC President Ryan Regnier said. “We are excited for all our 2024 races, but especially the Lincoln Half Marathon and The Mile under the RRCA championship series.”
