Inaugural Spring Forward Race in the Books
The inaugural Spring Forward Race is complete, and what a FANTASTIC turnout March 27 for the 10-mile and 1-mile event. It was a beautiful morning for around 200 participants to set new PRs, cheer on friends and enjoy some nice Spring temperatures for a change.
Both races began and ended at 27th and A streets, near the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. The 10-mile course headed out on Normal Boulevard, made its way to 56th Street, then headed west on Calvert Street until it intersected Rock Island Trail. From there, runners made a brief out-and-back to Old Cheney before continuing down Rock Island back to the start.
The 1-mile course made a loop in and around the beautiful Antelope Park area. It was exciting to see many young runners, participating as part of the Lincoln Track Club Kids’ Grand Prix.
We are just amazed by everyone who completed the race! Whether it was particularly challenging for you, or if you felt great the whole time... as race directors we are proud of you. KEEP GOING!

Due to covid safety protocols, no awards ceremony was held; awards will be mailed to winners.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the first Spring Forward Race a success! We look forward to seeing many of you May 2 for the next Lincoln Track Club race, the 44th annual Lincoln Marathon and Half Marathon. The Lincoln Track Club is still looking for volunteers for the week of the marathon. Check out all the options and sign up at this link.
