Unusually cold temps for early April did not keep the intrepid Lincoln Track Club volunteers from showing up to stage the Tabitha 10k and 2 Âmile races. With temps in the upper teens to low 20s, but sunshine overhead, several runners clocked PRs on this challenging Holmes Lake course.This is the second year the Lincoln Track Club has partnered with Tabitha Health to offer a race to benefit Meals on Wheels. Runners ages five to one hundred signed up to run this April 7 race, and in doing so, provided over three hundred meals for Tabitha Meals on Wheels. Tabitha resident Clarence Osborn, age 100, once again crossed the finish line. A longtime participant in Lincoln Track Club races, Clarence has earned “celebrity status†with both the Tabitha and LTC communities.Next year, the Lincoln Track Club and Tabitha with partner to offer the first event of the LTC season—a 10-Âmile race on a brand-new course along with a 5k and 1-Âmile kids’ run. It will move into the timeslot previously held by the State Farm Run.Results highlights: In the 10k race, Nolan Zimmer was the first to cross the tape overall in a time of 31:57. Only eight seconds behind, Johnny Rutford was second with a time of 32:05 and Cory Logsdon was third in 33:03. In the women’s division, Sarah Fowler earned the top spot with a time of 39:37. The race for second and third was very close, with Anna Dilley grabbing second in 40:33 and Kelsey Oliverius third in 40:37. Top masters times in the 10k went to Jason Schmaderer (38:40) and Bryn Gardner (47:47).In the 2Â-mile race, Slade Manning was first overall (11:29). Taking second and third overall (first and second in the women’s division) were Jessica Tebo (11:32) and Kara Schleuter (11:57).Full results for both races.
