5K "Runway" Run and 1 Mile Children's Run

ABOUT THE COURSE -- Both races will start on the west ramp of the Lincoln Airport near NW 36th Street and West Mathis.  This course includes running or walking on the airport taxiways  of the Lincoln Airport . . . a unique experience!

ENTRY FEE -- $15 if postmarked by Thursday, July 16, $25 after July 16, No entries accepted on race day. 

RACE LOCATION AND PARKING- Google Maps: 1  2
The race will be held on the west side of the Lincoln Municipal Airport near the intersections of West Mathis and NW 36th Streets.  From NW 48th Street turn east onto West Mathis Street and proceed to NW 36th Street.  Turn right and follow the signs to the designated parking areas. 

AWARDS - All entrants will receive a colorful commemorative Thunder Run t-shirt.
5K Run - The first two male and female finishers will receive a $50 and $25 gift certificate to the Lincoln Running Company.
1-Mile Children's Run - Prizes and gifts to all participants.

Age Group Awards -- Age groups for the 5K race are: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 & over.  The top three in each age group will win gift certificates of $20, $15, and $10 respectively from the Lincoln Running Company.

KID'S GRAND PRIX -- The Kid's 1 Mile Run will be the sixth run in the Kid's Grand Prix series.  This special program for elementary school children provides prizes based upon participation in selected LTC races.

Standards for McDonalds Prizes -- The "McRun For McDonalds" standards for the 5K course are as follows:  Anyone beating posted times in this race will receive a coupon good for a free meal from McDonalds.  To win coupons, men must finish the 5K course under 25 minutes and women must finish under 29 minutes.

Saturday, August 1st (race day)

6:30 am to 7:45 am, at race site, NO registration on race day.

Pick up timing chip the day of the race.
NO registration on race day.

Race Times / Results -- Both races will be chip-timed.  All awards will be based on the recorded chip time.  Race results will be available upon this website.  Results will not be mailed.

NOTE:  Animals, strollers, rollerblades, skates and headphones are not permitted upon the running course.  The use of a personal music device is strongly discouraged.  The Lincoln Track Club encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of our races.  This is so that you may enjoy all that our races have to offer as well as for the protection of all our participants.
